The 'Leopoldii' gets its name from the Belgium King Leopold. It has a wide pyramidal crown. It reaches up to 20m height and has quite a striking leaf colour. Young foliage is pink and turns white and yellow speckled. Flowers are of the species, emerging while the leaves unfold in April. It is used as a park tree and solitary.
