Aesculus Hipposcastanum (Common Horse Chestnut) |
|

This is a very familiar tree grown in large parts of Europe. Grows quite large, with a wide crown and a short, sturdy trunk. Leaves are dark green, turning yellow brown in autumn. It flowers profusely with white flowers and its fruit is the chestnut. Very strong root system. Because of the large amount of fruit produced it may not be suitable to streets and also is susceptible to deicing salt used on roads. Used in parks and private gardens. Small
